For those of you that have been waiting for something to put the brakes on this runaway train of the Trump Administration, I think it has finally arrived. We thought it would be the Mueller investigation into Russian collusion and it still may be, but there is a new disaster in the form of separating parents and children. What does this have to do with white nationalism you may ask? Well it has everything to do with it. Let me explain. The decision to go to a zero tolerance southern boarder policy was not rooted in law as there was no requirement by law to separate parents and families. Trump and his advisers alone made the decision to enforce boarder laws in this method. They admitted that they felt it would be a deterrent to others that might be so inclined to do the same thing. That is having the gall to think they could seek asylum in America which claims to be the land of the free and the home of the brave.
No, this policy was not rooted in law at all but is a heartless attempt to send a message that was clear and could not be misinterpreted. The message to everyone being that America would no longer open its boarders to brown people. Brown people that could, as the President said with his own words, ”infest” America with their inferior genes, crime and propensity to create other brown people just like them. "Infest" is not my word, it came right out of the President’s mouth. The architect of this new southern strategy is none other than Stephen Miller, a 33 or 34 year old senior policy adviser to President Trump. Yes I did say that Stephen Miller is in his early thirties. Imagine a senior policy adviser to the President who is in his thirties. What Stephen Miller lacks in age and wisdom he makes up with his white nationalist views. Miller is a holdover from the original cast of characters including Steve Bannon. Bannon has made his views clear as a leader in the Alt Right movement and former executive chairman of Breitbart News (I use the term "news" loosely) an Alt Right propaganda machine. Bannon invoked the tools of the old southern strategy to help Trump win the presidency. And Miller is a Bannon protégé.
Just for a little background, in the early seventies President Nixon developed what was referred to as the southern strategy. The southern strategy was a Republican Party electoral strategy to increase political support among white voters in the South by appealing to racism against African Americans. You see history has a tendency of repeating itself. Sound familiar? This is what make America Great Again is all about. Its origins are not in doing what’s best for America and the American people, but instead it is pitted in the bowels of racism and bigotry. Stephen Miller is the architect and President Trump is the developer.
I have heard pundits say they have been in Trump’s presence for many years and they have never heard him use racist terms or words. We all know that’s baloney because we have heard racist terms and words come right out of his mouth on too many occasions to even chronicle. A perfect example is the President referring to many African Nations as shithole countries. Do people really think we are not listening or; do they believe that they are such good liars and con artists that we will not believe our own eyes and ears? Either way something is terribly wrong with us or with them if good people fall for this nonsense.
And now we find ourselves at the precipice of an overwhelming crisis created by a ruthless and uncaring would-be dictator. And the sad thing is you have what would otherwise be good people trying to justify it. Let me share something with you; there is no justification for this so please stop trying. I for one am tired of hearing all these lame excuses. Stop it and instead stand up for what is right. The amazing thing is many of these same people have young children themselves and yet can speak about this crisis of separating parents and children like it’s a normal day at the office. Where do they get this ability to disconnect their feelings and sensibilities from this situation? I will never understand it. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best when he said "The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people."
The Battle of Waterloo was fought on Sunday, 18 June 1815, near Waterloo in present-day Belgium, then part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands. This was Napoleon’s greatest defeat and it ended the Napoleonic wars. And now almost two hundred and three years to the day, President Trump stands at his own Waterloo. I predict this immigration crisis will be Trump’s Waterloo and it is rooted in the evils of White Nationalism. Yes, Donald Trump, Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller have overplayed their hands this time. I have faith that there are still enough good people left in America to overcome the evil that has “infested” our land. Unfortunately, this evil manifests from the inside and not out.
